Trench-foot and Ordering Success: Tuesday 15th February

I was surprised this morning to find the streets still covered in snow. It appears as though when it comes to gritting, Tokyo takes a similar approach to that of the UK, i.e. it doesn’t. Owing to the fact that I no longer own any shoes with a fully intact sole, I am pretty certain that I had developed trench-foot by the time I reached school.

I have no idea what this is, but it is definitely what I ordered.

This evening an amazing thing happened. I was on my way to rehearsal and I popped into a ‘vending machine restaurant’ for my dinner. Incredibly the dish that I had wanted was actually the one that I ended up eating. I wish that I could say this was a result my rapidly improving Japanese, but it was more to do with the fact that the vending selection machine in this particular restaurant had really big pictures.
