Getting to the Point and Free Sandals: Friday 24th June

Rather unsurprisingly I failed the reading test, however it was by such a narrow margin that I was allowed to re-sit it, which I did and then passed. Rather surprisingly I performed reasonably competently in all of the other aspects of my exams, including the speaking test. My teacher also told me that in future speaking tests it might be an idea to give answers that weren’t quite so long, and hence more prone to error. A lesson well learnt.

The perfect combination: Jelly, Ice cream and Samurai.

This afternoon I went shopping for a waterproof coat, much to the chagrin of shopkeepers across Tokyo. Surprisingly none of them stocked a coat which ‘did not like water’, but I was eventually successful in my quest. I even got a free pair of sandals as a gift; at least I assume that is what the shop attendant was telling me, and security wasn’t called for when I put them in my bag, always a good sign in my book.
